Which one to buy?
My needs were simple: overweight; sedentary job; over fifty; family history of 'take care'; could be too late even now but still, worth-a-try.
So, I bought a GT3 second hand from Fuse. It arrived in a box and was ready to go in a trice.
My kids, all three of them, mocked me for considering a trike.
Within minutes, one after the other, they declared it to be 'OK'.
Even though the 'rock star' insisted on taking it round the back so no one else would see him on it.
A six kms trip each way to get to work is the minimum requirement for riding to work for exercise. Just right.
I've ridden many-a-bike, and still ride our BSA tandem at the weekends, but this is different.
It is 'just right' for my needs, which are not all that different to millions of other people.
I save $60 a fortnight in petrol, I've lost 5 kilos in six weeks, 2 inches off my BMI (sorry to mix measurements there), I feel great, and I speak to people every day when I get on, or off, the trike.
It's just what the doctor ordered (and she could do with one too).
The drum brakes are more than enough, the gears are snappy, precise, easy and smooth.
The seat is comfortable.
Cars give me a wide berth and are less of a threat than being on a bike.
Would I get another one-you bet. Probably the tandem.
Don't delay-get one today.
