My GT3 came, secondhand, complete with Scorchers, although, sadly, somewhat threadbare.
Having suffered a few punctures from minute broken beer bottle shards I knew I had to do something.
Yes, the Scorchers are 'rolling resistant' super-tyres according to all reports I could find on the web, but I am commuting on a daily basis and I'm not all that concerned about a nano-second here or there, effort yes.
I eventually settled on Schwalbe Marathon's, slightly cheaper and with a good reputation also.
I can only offer an impression, not scientific proof:
My Marathons tyres are very good. The seem to corner slightly better than the fatter Scorchers and are no less comfortable at 100psi (where, frankly, I doubt anything other than suspension would be classed as comfortable) than the Scorchers. The steering now seems to be lighter and more responsive.
However, I was having trouble with my mudguards rubbing on the Scorchers and took them off to resolve the problem.
With the Marathon's, the 'guards are back on and doing the job they were designed to do.
I would happily recommend Schwalbe's Marathon tyre to others.
